FORGIVENESS

To Err is Human. No human on this planet is perfect. Probably that makes him Human? Even the so called most perfect perfectionist just tries to achieve perfection but can never reach there. He is just better than others in this regard. The moment one feels, he has achieved perfection, he is committing the greatest of all errors.

How often do we commit mistakes? Well, one can argue over thousands of years on what is right and what is wrong. Let’s leave it to the reader’s perception of right and wrong. Irrespective of perceptions, we get almost similar answer: ‘Quite Often’

Among the various types of people, two kinds of people do exist.
One,who feels that they do almost everything right, may it be,taking decisions, maintaining confidence level etc. Second are those who introspect a lot about themselves, fearing that they might commit mistakes in every decision they take no matter how small that decision is.
First kind of people face most of the problem finding peace because they don’t know to forgive others for their mistakes, though they don’t realize that they too are human and its human tendency to err reacting to situations and bogging down to state of mind.
Second kind of people face similar problem for not forgiving themselves as they too forget, at times, that they are human.

By forgiveness, I don’t intend to justify the mistakes committed, as it’s effects remains in one form or the other but on the other hand, it is the most important quality that enables one to correct those mistakes. The absence of this quality, makes mind free to commit more mistakes as human mind has tendency to justify its mistakes quoting “ anyway I have committed mistake and no one is going to believe me now even if I correct them” which is most dangerous. Forgiveness shows belief in others (in first case) and in self (in second) which comes with inherent responsibility that they will correct their mistakes in future.

If laces of both shoes are tied together, you stumble upon and fall, it’s very important to untie the unnecessary ties (passing of blames, hurt kept in mind etc) before starting to walk again to ensure there is no fall again at least for this reason.

Forgiveness is the giving, and so the receiving, of life – George Mc Donald

So true, isn’t it? Giving ensures trust and relationship is intact and in turn receive the peace, most deserved for every human being on this planet.
